Through the traditional process of hot forging, a bar is converted into a blank before our putter-togetherers get to work. The die for the 8.25 inch is an old Sheffield pattern unearthed and revitalised. Made to order, these unique scissors will never let you down.

Why are some shears sidebent?
Sidebent shears, also known as bent-handle shears, are designed with the shanks raised above the blades, allowing the lower bow to clear the edge of a worktable while the blades remain flat against the surface. This enables long, accurate cuts without lifting the fabric from the table.
For dressmakers and tailors, this makes a significant difference. Large pieces of cloth can be cut smoothly while remaining fully supported, improving both accuracy and efficiency. It is one of the reasons why sidebent dressmaker shears and tailor shears have remained the preferred choice for professional fabric cutting since the design was first patented in Sheffield in 1800.
